Panagiotis Kapos, The digital transition of the book publishing industry to the new ecosystem of value and networking: The Greek case.

  • In this dissertation, through a holistic view, the different dimensions and processes of the digital transition of the publishing industry are being investigated, which, excluding the book formats, concern every single part of the publishing chain. During the investigating process, the idea of the new hybrid, interactive and networked environment is being developed, of the new ecosystem of value and networking, in which the publishing companies and the publishing industry are asked to implement and operate, within the frame of a holistic implementation of the processes of this digital transition. In this manner their roles and relationships with the traditional and new entry players in the field obtain a new role. Under this theory, the aim of this dissertation is the recording, analysis and the in-depth understanding of the processes of the digital transition which are noticed in the Greek book publishing industry.
