PhD Candidate - Entrepreneurial Journalism Integrated Communicative Strategies & Social Media

Katerina Vlassopoulou grew up and lives in Athens. She studied Greek Culture at the Greek Open University and completed the first Master Degree at Cultural Management. Her first research was about the Organization's online communication methods with the public, with a case study of the British Museum. She has also completed her postgraduate studies at the Media and Culture Communication Department of the Panteion University, conducting her research in Cultural Diplomacy. Based on archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with the assistance of Assistant Professor of Modern and Contemporary History Chrysanthi Avlmi, diplomatic actions are presented with the help of Culture during Eleftherios Venizelos' governance and in the framework of the Paris Peace Conference. Since May 2017, she has begun her PhD Research on the Media and Culture Communication Department of Panteion on "Engagement" and "Listening": Exploring the Business Innovation and Sustainability axes of journalistic organizations in the Digital Age. The Role of Big Data.


She also participates in the Ad Discovery Workshop, led by Betty Tsakarestou. Her research interests include novelty logic and entrepreneurship in the context of journalism, online communication strategies, the study of the public as a source and recipient of information, the big data and the logic of their use to and from the public. She continues and attends courses on her interests in academic institutions abroad.


Over the years, she has been experimenting with the construction and management of news media pages, translates articles for Global Voices, managed a political magazine website and has participated in start up workshops as a member of the management committee. It also writes in Medium. Among other things, she works in the private sector as a management assistant and is the mother of a 6-year-old girl.
