Marilena Karra was born in Rethymno, Crete, in 1994, studied Art Theory and History at the Athens School of Fine Arts, followed by postgraduate studies at the Department of Political Science and History of Panteion University. She is currently working on her doctoral thesis on Jean-Luc Godard's Histories of Cinema (Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in co-supervision with Universite Toulouse II - Jean Jaures), while she teaches art philosophy and aesthetics courses as a teaching assistant at Universite Toulouse II - Jean Jaures and at the Sorbonne Nouvelle. Part of her research has been presented at conferences in Greece and abroad (France, Belgium, Italy, Algeria), as well as in scientific journals. From 2019 to 2022 she received the Dimitra Filippou-Elbisco Greek Culture Fellowship and from May 2022 a fellowship of the IKY.
