- Professor Yannis Skarpelos taught as a visiting Professor a course on “History and Theory of Photography,” in the Department of History and Theory of Art, at the School of Fine Arts in Athens.
- Professor Yannis Skarpelos became a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the “Visual Studies” journal, one of the top journals in the field of visual cultural studies. The journal was first published in 1986 as “Visual Sociology”, and since 2002 is published by Taylor and Francis under its current title.
