Emmanouil Amariotakis was born in Patras. In 2022, he graduated from the Department of Architecture at the University of Patras. His research work was titled “Within the Three Walls: The Representation of Housing Through the Set Designs of Greek TV Series.” His thesis was titled “In Dataverse We Die, In Datayard We Live,” highlighting the interaction of technology, cultural memory, and architectural design. Professionally, he is active in the field of architecture.
Since April 2024, he has been a PhD candidate at the Department of Communication, Media, and Culture at Panteion University, with the provisional title “The Impact of Television on the Aesthetics of Housing in Dependent Classes: An Examination of the Interaction Between Architecture and Popular Culture.”
In November 2024, he participated in the scientific conference “Film Criticism in Greece: Historical and Methodological Approaches,” presenting the paper “Shaping the Visual Image: The Influence of Social Media Critics on the Success of Television Series.”
His research interests focus on the cultural dynamics of everyday space, the connection between popular culture and television, and the interaction of art, culture, and society, with the goal of understanding and applying these elements in architectural design and daily life.
